FAST-IT. The portal you have to use.
Here's how to navigate it.
FAST-IT is the Italian Foreign Ministry’s online portal for consular services. AIRE, certificates, registry communications — everything goes through here. The portal isn’t intuitive. This guide explains how to use it.

Creating the account
Go to the portal
serviziconsolari.esteri.it — use Chrome. Other browsers have issues.
Click REGISTRAZIONE
Not “Accedi.” Registrazione is for new accounts.
Personal data
Exactly as on your passport. Middle names in the NOME field. Dates DD/MM/YYYY.
Confirm by email
Check inbox and spam. Link expires after 24 hours.
The account does NOT register you with AIRE. Two separate steps.
Common problems
Portal won’t load
Chrome, clear cache, try incognito. Safari and Firefox have issues.
Can’t find AIRE registration
Login → Anagrafe Consolare e AIRE → Richiedere l’iscrizione. Not on the homepage.
PDF won’t upload
Max 1MB, 200dpi. Compress first.
Wrong date format
DD/MM/YYYY, not MM/DD/YYYY. The system accepts impossible dates without warning.
Name doesn’t match
Middle names in NOME field, not COGNOME. Must match passport.
Status not changing
FAST-IT only shows consulate stage. After “Trasmessa al Comune” the system stops. The comune processes separately.

Registry, family status, residence.
Common questions
Is FAST-IT the same as Prenot@Mi?
No. Separate systems. FAST-IT (serviziconsolari.esteri.it) for AIRE and certificates. Prenot@Mi (prenotami.esteri.it) for appointments. Different accounts.
Do I need SPID or CIE?
No. FAST-IT uses email+password. No digital identity needed.
Does it work on mobile?
The interface is for desktop. On mobile it’s difficult. Use a computer with Chrome.
My data is wrong, can I fix it?
Some fields can’t be changed. You may need a new account or to contact the consulate.
